Presentation of the red collection box by take-e-way
(10 January 2011) When launching the "European Green Capital of 2011", the red collection box, the core of the voluntary collection of small household appliances and energy saving lamps in Hamburg, is first presented to the public.
At the opening of the "Winning with energy" exhibition at the Hamburg Europe Passage Dr. Herlind Gundelach, Senator for Urban Development and Environment, inaugurates the innovative two-chamber principle of the new collection system in which the small household appliances and energy saving lamps can be placed separately from each other. The senator is leading by example and inserts the very first energy saving lamp in the red collection box. The initiative is supported by the recycling company TCMG, the Ministry of Urban Development and Environment (BSU) of the City of Hamburg, the Disposal Associations of Hamburg and the Retailers Association of Hamburg.
The red collection box can be obtained free from all interested companies and other organizations from Hamburg directly from take-e-way (+4940/219010-65) or from TCMG (+4940/2530489-0) in order to deploy it in indoor areas with high visitor frequency.
