New registration obligation for packaging in Spain

The Spanish packaging law obliges producers to register their packaging. Distributors from abroad must also register through an authorised representative if they sell packaged products in Spain.

ElektroG Category 6: types of devices will be renamed on August 1st

The type of device "Tools for use in private households" and the type of device "Tools for industrial use only" are renamed.

Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (ElektroG) Category 6: The following types of devices will be renamed on August 1st

The type of device "Tools for use in private households" and the type of device "Tools for industrial use only" are renamed (Amendment of the rule EAR 03-006).

As from August 1st, 2012, the types of devices "Electrical and electronic tools for use in private households" are named (type of device 6.a) respectively "Electrical and electronic tools which are not used in private households" are named (type of device 6.b). These designations are also mentioned in future information and in the EAR system.

The renaming of the types of devices does not have any consequences in terms of contents nor any legal consequences for registrations for which you applied or for registrations already granted.
