EU Responsible Person

An EU-based Responsible Person - also called EU Authorized Representative, Authorized Representative according to the ProdSG, EU Representative or EU-REP - assists producers and importers in fulfilling certain obligations.

The RSP (Responsible Person) fulfills the following tasks as a link between the producer and the market surveillance authorities:

• Keeping the EU declaration of conformity and the technical documentation at the disposal of the national surveillance authorities for a period of 10 years after the product has been placed on the market.
• Handing over all necessary information and documentation to prove the conformity of a product to the competent authorities.
• Cooperation with national authorities in all necessary actions

A producer without a registered office in the EU must ensure that an economic operator responsible for its products is located in the European Union. This is exactly the function get-e-right takes over as your Responsible Person.

• Responsible person for almost all directives, standards and laws on product responsibility and product safety (except e.g. medical, food and cosmetic products). 
• Provision of a physical address in the European Union, which must be specified on the product
• Keeping the EU declaration of conformity and the associated technical documents available for the required 10 years, each with a public part for customers and a protected part for authorities.
• Testing of products to achieve marketability according to laws, regulations and standards
• Product monitoring by e.g. sampling in the market, market surveillance, etc.
• Support with or assumption of inquiries from market surveillance authorities, customs or other third parties by experienced quality and product managers as well as compliance consultants and specialist lawyers.
