The federal retail association Bundesverband Technik des Einzelhandels e.V. (BVT) has issued a reminder that as of 2 December 2021, electrical appliances – without the new EU energy label – may no longer be sold. This applies to washing machines, washer-dryers, dishwashers, refrigerators and freezers, wine storage cabinets, electronic displays and television sets. If the appliance is too old and the manufacturer cannot provide you with a new EU energy label on request, you should sell it off quickly, according to a BVT recommendation.

Evaluation and/or preparation of test reports
Please bear in mind that the new labels must have corresponding test reports that must be placed in the EPREL database. If these are lacking, then new labelling is not possible.
