WEEE Execution: The Netherlands are in search for free riders

Already 400 companies were requested to register under sanction of financial penalties and injunctions.

According to the information provided by our partner company WEEE Nederland the Dutch Ministry for Infrastructure and Environment proceeds against WEEE free riders.

When matching customs data with the Dutch WEEE register, about 1,500 companies have been identified, which import non-registered electrical and electronic devices into the Netherlands. Already 400 companies were requested to register under sanction of financial penalties and injunctions. Another 400 letters have already being prepared. Additional measures against free riders are planned.

Based on this, we imperatively recommend you to check your market activities in the Netherlands. Please do not hesitate to forward this information to your Dutch importers.

For any further questions, take-e-way will be glad to help you and your Dutch partners and will provide the WEEE registration free of charge. The same also applies in case that the Dutch authorities would contact you. Please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Michaela Lepke on: +49/40/219010-767 or lepke[at]take-e-way.de and ask for assistance.
