The European Product Registry for Energy Labelling (EPREL) refers to the European Product Database for Energy Labelling. Since 1 January 2019, an EPREL energy label has been mandatory for all energy consumption-relevant products sold in Germany and the European Economic Area (EEA). Devices that are to be sold within the EEA for the first time must first be entered in the EPREL product database. Goods lacking proper EPREL registration are prohibited from entering the market, which may lead to legal liabilities.
