New registration obligation for packaging in Spain

The Spanish packaging law obliges producers to register their packaging. Distributors from abroad must also register through an authorised representative if they sell packaged products in Spain.

Recurring errors in “is-input-report” are subject to fines

The EAR foundation (German WEEE registration board) advises to proceed carefully when submitting the notification of the quantity of electrical and electronic devices placed on the market. An incorrectly submitted “is-input-report” (actual input notification) may be punished by the German Federal Environment Agency in the form of a fine for an administrative offence.

The EAR foundation (German WEEE registration board) advises to proceed carefully when submitting the notification of the quantity of electrical and electronic devices placed on the market in order to avoid recurring errors, such as confusion between kilograms and tonnages or reporting months. An incorrectly submitted “is-input-report” (actual input notification) may be punished by the German Federal Environment Agency as an administrative offence on which a fine is imposed.
