New registration obligation for packaging in Spain

The Spanish packaging law obliges producers to register their packaging. Distributors from abroad must also register through an authorised representative if they sell packaged products in Spain.

Amazon demands EU Batteries Regulation

Producers of individually sold batteries and batteries contained in a product must prove their compliance to Amazon by providing a registration number before 18 August 2025. From this date, Amazon is legally obliged to deactivate your non-compliant offers, depending on the country.

Amazon informed its sellers in the Seller Central Portal about Upcoming EU Batteries Regulation requirements for EPR, which will apply from 18 August 2025.

According to the EU Batteries Regulation, all authorised individual batteries and batteries contained in a product offered for sale in the EU must be CE marked and have an EU Responsible Person.

Producers of individually sold batteries and batteries contained in a product must prove their compliance to Amazon by providing a registration number before 18 August 2025. From this date, Amazon is legally obliged to deactivate your non-compliant offers, depending on the country.

If you are a producer (seller) of batteries, Amazon advises you to register "in each" EU member state. Here you can find solutions for battery registration in your target EU countries. ("If you use drop-shipping or resell standalone batteries and batteries contained within a product, obtain registration numbers from your upstream suppliers.", advises Amazon).
