Amazon does not accept WEEE number

If Amazon suddenly stops accepting your WEEE number and delists products, it may be because your devices are registered in the wrong device type and Amazon notices this sooner than you or your competitor willing to take action.

However, some in-depth knowledge is occasionally required, because Amazon has sometimes internally defined the official device types of the EAR foundation (German WEEE and battery registration board) differently.

Here’s a little advice:

Category 5 - Small equipment (Equipment with no external dimension more than 50 centimetres) includes two types of B2C equipment for which can be registered:

  • a) Small equipment, that can be used in private households
  • b) Small photovoltaic panels, that can be used in private households

Category 6 - Small IT and telecommunication equipment with no external dimension more than 50 cm, is a B2C type of equipment for which to register:

  • a) Small It and telecommunication equipment, that can be used in private households
