New registration obligation for packaging in Spain

The Spanish packaging law obliges producers to register their packaging. Distributors from abroad must also register through an authorised representative if they sell packaged products in Spain.

Declaration for packaging in Malta

In accordance with the compliance guidelines established by the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA) in Malta, producers of packaging or packaging material placing less than 100 kg of packaging per year on the Maltese market are required to submit a declaration form.

Packaging producers who place less than 100 kg of packaging per year on the Maltese market are exempted from the obligations to join a recycling management system.

Nevertheless, in accordance with the compliance guidelines established by the Environment and Resources Authority (ERA) in Malta, producers of packaging or packaging material placing less than 100 kg of packaging per year on the Maltese market are required to submit a declaration form. The declaration can be downloaded from the official website of the Environment and Resources Authority and is to be submitted to the same authority.
