The OfH requirement stems from the Battery Law Implementation Act (BattDG – “Batterierecht-Durchführungsgesetz”), which came into force on 7 October 2025 and replaced the Battery Act (BattG) that had been in force until then.
Where can I quickly find an OfH for all my batteries?
The BattDG distinguishes between the following five battery categories: Electric vehicle battery; Light means of transport battery (LMT battery); Starting, lighting and ignition battery (SLI battery); Industrial battery, Portable battery. If you need to license packaging or register electrical appliances, you can also do this with take-e-way as your single point of contact for all matters relating to extended producer responsibility. For all questions relating to the marketability or conformity of your products (from document checks and preparation of the CE declaration to labelling checks), your take-e-way consultant can organise solutions or authorised representatives in your important EU target markets, should you require them.
take-e-way is an OfH for industrial batteries (e.g. stationary power storage devices)
take-e-way itself is an OfH for industrial batteries approved by the EAR Foundation. As an obligated producer, seller or importer of industrial batteries, you can now commission the take-e-way OfH to fulfil your obligations. If you need to quickly participate in an OfH with your industrial batteries or prove your participation by 15 January 2026, take-e-way will be happy to help you with this as well.
