As of July 2023, textile products imported into or sold in Hungary are subject to EPR obligations (EPR = Extended Producer Responsibility). This is based on the Hungarian Government Regulation 80/2023, Annex 1 of which stipulates that textile products are subject to Extended Producer Responsibility.
This includes textiles for household as well as for professional use. Non-Hungarian companies have to appoint an Authorised Representative in Hungary.
