get-e-right – Ready for International Compliance!

The get-e-right GmbH provides the obligatory WEEE authorised representative for foreign producers without German subsidiary

(Hamburg/Germany) It is quite difficult for distributors and manufacturers of electrical and electronic equipment to fulfil the requirements of product responsibility and environmental laws in cross-border sales. The reasons are on the one hand the complexity due to the continuously increasing number of laws, directives and regulations and their national implementation variants in the European countries.

On the other hand, a permanent high level of attention and dynamics is required in order to adapt to the frequent changes of existing regulations. With the initiative of the VERE Association and the take-e-way GmbH, a new service company has been established in January 2015:

The get-e-right GmbH provides the obligatory WEEE authorised representative for foreign producers without German subsidiary and thus adapts the services of take-e-way to the new legal requirements with the coming into force of the new Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act.

International Compliance as Mammoth Task
Only the fulfilment of the revised WEEE directive in all 28 EU member states may almost not be organised, even by companies with their own internal compliance department.

Together with the national implementation of the Battery Directive and the Packaging Ordinance, the Europe-wide acting manufacturers and distributors have to take alone 84 different legal constructs into account. Added to this are further regulations such as for instance REACh, RoHS, Product Safety Act, CE conformity, etc.

The sanctions for not or late fulfilled legal requirements represent a considerable cost risk. Even general prohibitions on sale may be a result of it.

Therefore, the compliance manager in the company has an enormous responsibility and is often left alone with a huge number of regulations. Their relief is imperatively recommendable in order to ensure a successful compliance management.

get-e-right provides the Authorised Representative in Germany and helps on Site
“get-e-right provides the legally required authorised representative for companies without own subsidiary in Germany in the sense of the amended WEEE directive. Another new feature is that we support our customers in determining and organising their obligations, already in-house right on site. It particularly comes into questions if the resources of our customers are fully engaged or not available at all.”, said Oliver Friedrichs, manager of the get-e-right GmbH, today in Hamburg.

take-e-way offers European-wide Registration and Authorised Representatives
“For all other European countries where our customers do not have their own subsidiary, take-e-way makes the necessary authorised representatives available or imparts suitable organisations for this purpose within the frame of a Europe-wide partner network. Thereby, if required, we release the manufacturers and distributors from the research, nomination and monitoring of their authorised representatives in all European countries.“, added Oliver Friedrichs further on.
