The Spanish packaging law obliges producers to register their packaging. Distributors from abroad must also register through an authorised representative if they sell packaged products in Spain.

Energy labels – Since 30 April 2021, it has been possible to complete EPREL entries for light sources

Since 30 April 2021, the EPREL reporting template for light sources has likewise been fully complete. Previously, only pre-registration was possible so that the QR code could be generated in order to then already enable suppliers to create energy labels themselves. Since the end of last week, it has been possible for the entry to be made completely.

Since 30 April 2021, the EPREL reporting template for light sources has also been fully complete. Before that, it was only possible to pre-register with minimum data so that suppliers could generate the QR code required for the new energy label in advance. Since the end of last week, suppliers have been able to enter all data specified in Annex V of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/2015 supplementing Regulation (EU) 2017/1369 of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to energy labelling of light sources in the EPREL product database.

Regulation (EU) 2019/2015 imposes an obligation to register the parameters in the EPREL product database as of 1 May 2021. From 1 September 2021, the new energy labels are to be visible to the end consumer. Scanning the QR code on the energy label leads directly to the public entry where the energy consumption-relevant product data can be viewed. We therefore urgently recommend that you comply with the obligation to register, as you can expect to receive admonitions from competitors if you fail to do so.
