As we have learned, a take-back system based there is also actively sounding out the market. The aim of this action is to ensure fairer competition and at the same time to draw more attention to the legal obligations.

Smart home products are required to be registered in Germany as small appliances as contemplated by the Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act and not as small ITC devices. In the other EU member states, smart home products are registered in different device types depending on their function.
