CCC stands for China Compulsory Certification. The Chinese CCC serves to standardise product quality and is comparable to the European CE system. However, there are important differences to consider. In cooperation with GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit), the VERE Association will host a free CCC webinar on 14th July 2021.

“In May 2021, one third of all admonitions made known to the merchants’ association ‘Händlerbund’ were due to violations of the Packaging Act,” reported the Channelpartner portal on 7 July 2021. This finding is based on an assessment by the Händlerbund and features at the top of its list.

On June 25, 2021, the Bundesrat approved the Act on Corporate Due Diligence in Supply Chains by waiving a conciliation procedure. It will largely enter into force on January 1, 2023 – and for individual provisions already on the day after its pronouncement.

Not only in Europe, but also in the USA, you need a registration for the sale of electronic products and batteries. Producers are subject to registration if they sell computers (desktops, laptops, tablets, etc.) or televisions and their peripherals (monitors, printers, DVD players, game consoles, etc.).

Competitors can assert far-reaching claims for information and damages due to missing ElektroG registration. Businesses are therefore well advised to avoid such violations through proper registration.

The new Packaging Act (VerpackG2) is scheduled to take effect in Germany on 3 July 2021. An important amendment is the newly created function of the authorised representative, who can relieve certain manufacturers of many duties.
